Marketing Campaigns

on Friday, September 18, 2009 in , ,
I've been spending some time working on a few marketing campaigns this week, which is why I haven't been blogging. I don't think I fully realized how much work goes into a marketing campaign until recently. I've run marketing campaigns in the past but not to this magnitude.

We're currently running three marketing campaigns this week. This on top of normal day-to-day activities and 2, possibly 3, new sales. We've all been working around the clock this week, which is a good thing.

I've also hired 2 more people to the team who will be focusing on one of our marketing campaigns.

Time to get back to work. Have a great day!

Slacking...Again

on Tuesday, September 08, 2009 in ,
I know I really need to get better at blogging. There are so many things that distract me on a daily basis and blogging just gets lost in the shuffle.

However, both of my boys are in school now so I should have some time in the mornings to post. Bear with me as I try to establish a new routine. My youngest is in school just for the morning so he gets off the bus at noon. Right now, I'm working on homework but should have that wrapped up by week's end.

It's been so long since I've had any time without my boys that I really don't know what to do with it. I've changed my work hours so that I can have my mornings somewhat free to work on homework, housework, etc.

I haven't forgotten about posting what I learned in Atlanta. I've just been so overwhelmed lately that my time management skills have gone out the window. I am a prime example of what happens if you don't follow a routine. Don't let this happen to you!

Once I've finished my homework, I'm going to start getting back into time management. It's very difficult, oftentimes, to manage your time when things change. However, we only have so much time per day and we can't afford to be wasteful.

I'm going to gather some tips, tricks, and helpful hints to post for everyone, including myself, to re-educate us on better time management.

It's time to get back to my studies but I will post again soon...I promise.

Have a great day!

Tips from Atlanta

on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 in , ,
We got back from Atlanta early Monday morning so it's taken me awhile to get re-adjusted to being on my schedule again. I learned some great things at the conference and am going to share them here. I'll be posting them later in the week as work piled up while I was away.

I heard Dan Hollings, Twitter Twenious, speak and he was awesome. I have half a notebook of notes to sort through and implement so bear with me. I also heard Jeff Johnson and Ross Goldberg speak. I couldn't believe the candor. I was expecting some stuffy poeple in suits...very professional. Was I relieved to see it wasn't like that. I had so much fun!

Well, I need to get back to work for a bit before starting dinner and getting into some homework. I'll get started on my notes and post them here soon.

Have a great evening!

Atlanta Bound

on Thursday, August 06, 2009 in , ,
Right now the family and I are on I-85 S towards Atlanta. We're going for the StomperNet conferences being held this weekend. I am so excited to attend. This is my first out of town event and, so far, it's been great getting out.

The boys are handling the ride well. They're sleeping right now but we made sure they brought enough things from the house to keep them busy. The ride home Sunday will show us how it would have been had we left earlier today.

According to TomTom, we should arrive in Atlanta at 6:04 am. We've been on the road since 5 pm this afternoon. Such a long trip but it's going to be so much fun. We've stopped at a few rest stops along the way to stretch our legs and whatnot, but I groan each time. I just want to get there and get started.

That's it for tonight. Remember to check back here for updates on the conference.

Preparing for Atlanta

on Monday, August 03, 2009 in , ,
I have been invited to attend the StomperNet Live 8 conferences in Atlanta this weekend. I've never been to an event of this magnitude before and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm leaving here Thursday evening and should arrive in Atlanta early Friday morning. That will give me just enough time to freshen up and get to the event.

I'm full of mixed emotions about this networking event. As a virtual assistant, most of my networking is done, well, virtually. I'm not an introvert but I'm not a complete extrovert either. I'd say I'm somewhere in between. However, this event is going to force me to get out of my comfort zone and approach total strangers.

Either way, I'm going to be put in a situation to which I'm not accustomed. I'm excited, nervous, anxious, and everything in between. I'm hauling the whole family to Atlanta with me just so that I don't have to miss them. I've never been away from my children and I don't want to start now.

Keep up with me on Twitter, Facebook, and here as I'll be posting all about the conferences. Because this is my first time going, I don't want to miss anything. Things are going to be hectic between the conferences and all the networking events so bear with me.

Ok, it's time for me to get back to work. I've still got some loose ends to tie up before I call it quits for the day.

Have a great evening!
